Documentary Photography: Low Light

Low light situations and the use of high ISO is often avoid because it can create a lot of grain. During my photography journey, I have also avoided it. Many times I doubted if it was worthy picking up my camera.

Recently, I have joined a group of documentary photographers to challenge ourselves and shoot for seven days at evening time. I have learned not to be afraid of pushing the ISO in order to get a moment I want. Yes, there will be grain! I have learned to embrace it. The pictures below were taken at ISO 3200 and 4000. I'm now planning to explore even higher ISO because I love them.
